This Privacy Policy explains how uoguelph.courses collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website and related services. It also describes how we handle data when you choose to connect your Google Calendar account.
uoguelph.courses is a student-run platform for University of Guelph course planning and related tools. If you use Google Calendar features, you authorize us to access and process the Google Calendar data required to provide those features to you.
We collect information you choose to provide to us, information created when you use the service, and limited technical data required to operate the site.
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we use Google Calendar API data only to provide calendar-related features you directly request. This includes creating, updating, deleting, or displaying calendar events tied to your course schedule.
We do not sell Google Calendar data. We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising. We do not use data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models. Where applicable, our use of Google API data is intended to comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the limited situations below:
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Our service may rely on third-party providers such as hosting, analytics, authentication, database, and Google API services. Their handling of your information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
uoguelph.courses does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page. Continued use of the service after an update means the revised policy applies.
